WDF Announces Low Bid for $172 Million Sandy Recovery Program Restoration Project

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil, building and specialty construction company, today announced that its mechanical subsidiary, WDF Inc., has been identified by the New York City Housing Authority as the low bidder for the Sandy Recovery Program Restoration at Baruch Houses. The anticipated contract value is approximately $172.2 million.
The project scope of work includes both restoration and infrastructure improvements to the Baruch Housing complex, which consists of 18 buildings spread over a three-city-block footprint. Upgrades include renovations to heating plants for all 18 buildings with new equipment and high pressure steam, flood elimination systems and upgrades to sewer/storm management systems. Exterior upgrades include new storm-tight emergency generator enclosures with dedicated gas service, new roadways, sidewalks and green spaces. Architectural improvements include the rehabilitation of building entrances, lobbies and storm-damaged portions of all buildings. Work on the project is expected to commence in the spring of 2018 with substantial completion anticipated by mid-2021.
