Public School 11 has served the Woodside, Queens community for more than 120 years. In order to better suit the needs of the community’s student body, the school was expanded beyond its existing four-story building. The project included a total MEP upgrade of the current building as well as the construction of a five-story attached addition, which incorporates the installation of a complete standpipe and fire protection sprinkler system. The MEP upgrade of the existing building started immediately upon completion of the addition. The project was phased and primarily completed outside of school hours so as not to disturb the children’s summer activities.
