Project Description

WDF constructed a 17,000-square-foot addition to the Owls Head Grit and Scum Building for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. This building houses updated waste water treatment processing equipment. The addition consisted of a four-story concrete structure with Steel H Pile foundation, masonry walls, limestone and brick cladding, a large skylight, membrane roof, six high-speed rolling doors, two-story windows, hydraulic elevator, mechanical equipment, and control room office space. The interior finishes consisted of painted masonry walls, resinous flooring, stainless steel gratings, guardrails, glazed block walls, and acoustical ceiling tile for office spaces.
